duuuudddde, everybody complained about the metro all the time.
on the other hand the situation worked out so well because i had a boss who trusted me with the locking up and cleaning up. i'm sure there's someone in sacramento with a similar situation.
sacramento needs more motivated people to kick start a venue that isn't garbage like the new cattle club or whatever.
this list is so negative, i mean i like to be critical and talk shit just as much as everybody but give old j.p and liz a fucking break.
i don't see anyone else on this list taking the time to put that much description into the bands they book for fun when they have a full time job and don't want shows to start at 10pm and need sleep so bad.
7 dollars is so cheap for a show it's crazy. if you hate this then just don't go to the show. show j.p, liz and rick that you can do it better.
try asking liz or john if you can work the door for an hour so you can get in free, try sticking around and helping clean up a bit.
but, no one wants to do this and they'll continue to do nothing and complain because that our culture.
you're posts helps so much though, and your scene is getting whipped into shape one witty post at a time.
things are not getting worse at all in the punk scene, it's just changing faster than ever.
thats right, i said punk scene, which means a great deal to me.
never forget it's still punk to set up shows, sacrifice your time, make zines and just introduce new exciting things to others.
i'm 31 and still making zines, making records and putting on shows.
i work in another coffee shop too, a lot like the one i worked in when i first moved to sacramento.
love,
jay
