Just because those bands are probably not as great as purported I am a horse's ass? Look, idiot, no one is putting the kibosh on anyone's ability to promote anything the way they want, I'm just saying I ain't necessarily buying into the hype. Rick or JP or me or anyone can complain about no one showing up for gigs but the fact remains there are plenty of bad bands to go around that are from the area who play way too often as it is, without me having to 'support' even worse bands from out of the area. Cover charges, gig start times, $2 fees, etc. are all part of the equation, and necessary parts at that, but if I see one more 'band' consisting of two dudes (or gals) masturbating with egg eaters whilst punching each other with violas and kazoos, who then have the temerity to call themselves 'musicians', I'll probably kill myself...
