i just checked w/ firefox on a mac and it works.

i think maybe you are pressing the button on the very bottom that says "update show database". yes, you DO need a password for that. to update the "frontpage" you need to press the button near the top that says "update frontpage". you can leave the password blank or write whatever you want.

if you are still having troubles i recommend just punching a hole through your screen.
