my angle was more along the lines of "death penalty = wrong", but i'd agree that once you commit to the deed the level of barbarism involved shouldn't make much of a difference to the accused, provided it's "humane," which it seemed to be.

but as far as everyone else is concerned, i wonder if the states' death penalty still be around if we got spattered with blood instead of sitting behind glass waiting for the dude to gently lose consciousness? or would we want it more? or am i just assuming everyone's as timid as i am- i can't even watch most horror movies so i'm probably in the minority.

i know this is the wrong place to be serious, but i've always found the death penalty interesting.

and i do think cutting off people's legs and hands (hands = stealing, but i wonder what warrants getting your leg chopped off?!?) is fucked no matter what. my dad thinks it's the best law ever.
