I'm not interested in who's boss, I'd just like some clearer communication...I did go through DMS because I thought that was the only game in town as far as getting into the UCD Coffeehouse...the DMS folks explained to me that they couldn't *always* get the Coffeehouse, which I understood, but I sure would have liked to have known the end-around to get in there...sorry, all, but my idea of a venue for putting on a fun show is NOT a lecture hall, and while beggars can't be choosers I am now sort-of locked into this DMS show at CHEM 194 or wherever the heck it's going to be...there's so much more to this story that is under the radar that is pissing me off, but I'm not going to air my dirty laundry in this public forum, I'll leave that to those with nothing better to do. I think at this point, however, I'll just be happy volunteering at future DMS shows, with the hope that one day I can again PLAY a show at the fucking Coffeehouse (I played there 15 years ago with my old band and want to do it again.)
Sorry to all those bands I was trying to help get into the Coffeehouse, maybe next time.
Or I suppose I could just become a KDVS DJ and then I might be in with the in-crowd, but somehow I doubt it...
:kenny were you trying to put on the show through davis music scene? they used to host weekly or bi-monthly shows at chem 194 while the entertainment council has theirs at the coffeehouse.
:if you'd rather be at the coffeehouse, i would suggest contacting the entertainment council.
:there are a lot of people from kdvs on the council and that's my guess as to why brendan got his show booked so easily.
:show them who's boss!
