INFO KIOSK: nahrtwernnds is from l.a., having relocated from the east coast
some months ago. they are youngish dudes, i have not heard very much of
their music but i thought they are ze kind of stuff disciples of the
discordant sleepmute/nightmute school of 21st centrurie neo no wave will
appreciate. i am eager to see how this translates live, and i expect it to
be brutish. they're on the myspace thing, youse mp3 dweebs do a search
because i'm really tired of pasting links for you lazy bums. hawt grills
kewl gies are playing too, they are fun and will not drink your beers. that
is my job.
my other job is ushering in the FEAST/FEETS OF STRENGTH SERIES. this is
intended as a series of contests that will make live music obsolete in 2006.
PART 1: THE SPELLING BEE will begin shortly after the bands are done
blowing your brain out. this is an ATCUAL spelling bee (not a band like
some people seemed to think...what dummies!), and i will be the host.
please save your jokez about the "appropriatenoss" of me hosting a spelling
contestz until the nite of the show. you will have more time to write good
ones and make for better heckling, which will be strictly ENFORCED. like,
if people are not yelling crap the whole time, this is going to totally
suck!
bee signups will run from 7-8pm the night of the shoe, anyone can enter but
only one person will walk away with the grand pryze: a $20 gift card to red
lobster. consolation "prizs" will be handed out to the lozers also, but
that will mostly be stuff like having to do pushups and getting sprayed with
a garden hose in the 40 degree weather that will be in full effect that
night. i should warn you, there are a couple of heavy hitters entering the
bee. rick ele has been bragging nonstop about how he placed 12th in THE
ENTIRE STATE when he was a kid. not sure if that state was california or
arkansas, if it was the latter i don't think you have much to worry about
because their educational system is in tank. also, i heard patrick from
hgcg has like a 4.9 gpa at his high school and has been STUDYING FOR THIS
for like at least 2-3 weeks. i'm going to try and crush them, but i might
need help like having people there to throw water balloons to distract them
while they are trying to spell words i found in medical dictionaries that i
don't think they will be able to spell.
