I'm trying to put together a tour of the States for the fall (or 'Autumn' as we parochially like to call it) of this year and I'm hoping to do something in Sacramento if possible. I have a rough schedule which puts me in town on the 23rd of October and I'm hoping there might be somebody on here who can offer to help or point me in the direction of some friendly kids I should talk to. I'm up for playing house shows, galleries, cafes, outdoor shows, bowling alleys, old abandoned mines, whatever. Even, bars if things get desperate.
Just in case you haven't heard of me, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a singer and guitarist (and sometimes other things) from London, England. I started out playing in a band called The Wave Pictures who got more successful after I left. I've been playing under my own name (Hugh John Noble) for about 8 or 9 years now. I toured the USA for three months with Mandarin Dynasty in 2004.
If you're curious about the type of music I play, there might be some clues in the kinds of people I've played with before: The Microphones/Mt Eerie, Herman Dune, Scout Niblett, Calvin Johnson, Jeff Lewis, Kimya Dawson, Ted Leo, Viking Moses, Little Wings, Thanksgiving. Uh, so, yeah, kind of indie-ish I guess. The show would be me, maybe a friend backing me up. Maybe some audience member on drums if there's a drum kit and a willing volunteer.
