Fuck yeah! Way to go! It's great to see students at UC campuses finally getting up in arms about something, hopefully it doesn't just peter out. If students and faculty relentlessly disrupt UC activities they can make a difference. It happened at NYU recently, right? It can happen again, and I think it will happen if there is a massive, popular UC-wide shutdown.
Ultimately it's a state/economic problem you're right of course. But the Regents are awful robber barons that are appointed by their powerful friends. Just like all rich fascists they are terrified of popular movements, our apathy is the only thing that's allowed them to get as rich as they are.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops.
