Oh nothing is funnier than hearing hipsters rail against the "yuppies"!! Argh you mean those people that spend an inordinate amount of time caring about the latest fashions? Those folks that walk around with a false sense of superiority? The people that think all there is to a person is outward appearances? The ones who look down on others for not conforming to the latest uniform/fad/trend... Well look in the mirror dipshit! Oh well one more coffee house closed down.. I do love local indie music but quite honestly I only went to one show at the Java Lounge.. and that was because my friends were playing. Odd show times (4pm on sunday?) no hard alcohol and on the edge of the grid it just wasnt gonna happen. Besides Sac has some kick ass house shows so why would i schlep over to the J Lo? Good luck to the owners though.. hope they land on their feet.
:Because its a yuppie city. Look around you. It's been that way for the last 5 or 6 years. Want that space to be successful? Make it a bar or a restaurant.

:: Now I'm sure a ton of you will have real fun things to say in response, and I'm sure some of you will even come up with shining examples of businesses that don't cater to these types and are still running strong.
:: I know from dealing with these two very closely for a couple years now that they never once ripped anybody off. They both actually have a real strong sense of integrity, maybe to a fault. The only valid thing I've ever heard said about them is that one of them can be kind of a hot head. Well....if you don't act like a fuckin douche bag, that person is actually really cool. Besides, there's not one fuckin person on this planet that doesn't have some sort of personality "flaw". So....if this is the reason that the J-Lo didn't get any more support than it did, I sincerely hope that you all choke on your fucking Starbucks/peets bullshit.
:: Once again, another rad venue ruined by people that think that for some reason that they are entitled to something. If you don't show up and support a place with money (yep....kinda fuckin necessary) it will die!! Simple. I'm sure we'll all hear the same people that never supported, bitching real soon about how there's no shows anymore. Can't wait.
