yeah, they are good.
:Loser Life is one of those bands that a lot of people have never heard of, but a whole lotta people would totally love. If you like punk rock that is both pulverizing and has a ton of hooks, I would highly recommend them.

:I saw them last year (first time I'd ever heard them) and their live set was one of the best I saw all year -- live they struck me as a wild mix of Husker Du + Tragedy + Thin White Rope -- a combination that you would think wouldn't really work, but it did.

:Their recordings make me think of early Husker Du -- all of it --- like what would happen if you started exploring the possibilities of mixing Land Speed Record with the really good stuff on Zen Arcade and then bringing it forward a couple of decades.

:I'm not doing this show but am so glad it is happening and am only plugging it because I am absolutely thrilled they are playing Sacramento and I believe that there are some folks who would love this band who may not have heard about them.

:p.p.s. here's a review I ran into about Loser Life that really captures them: "This band reminds me of an awkward lonely kid who turns bully, but instead of bullying other awkward defenseless kids he turns his anger on those who deserve it. It is frightening in that way. It is also inspiring and motivating. Once you've processed that feeling, imagine it seeping out of your speakers in the form of hardcore that's a strange but gratifying mix of Pegboy, Husker Du, and Crucifix, and you'll understand why people have been making a big deal about this band."
