About Cheap Time...
"Garage rock/punk is often criticized for being the refuge of the uninspired. Learn your 1-4-5s, a few requisite Shadows of Knight moves, throw in some KBD attitude and you’re more or less golden. Accusations of complacency and the derivative will plague any subgenre, but they fail to take into account a band like Cheap Time. Jeff Novak could easily be placed along side fellow Volunteer Stater Jay Reatard in terms of his skills as not only an economically minded master tunesmith, but likewise as one who intelligently subverts genre expectations seemingly without even trying. Like Jay Reatard's solo work, there are many familiar reference points here, but garage, punk and new wave merely provide the bricks and mortar for a totally unique pop music statement." --Dusted magazine

About Apache...
"Just when it seems that no one can really effectively duplicate the early 70s glam sound, along comes Apache from San Francisco with a ramrodding, yet slovenly swing that booms and crushes those notions into a fine powder. This week's feature 7" is their debut release, and since it's on the Douche Master label, you can tell right off the bat that they will be hard to forget, and you'll quickly hear how this record is a solid testament to modern testicular pop perfection. Both songs reek of mid 70s delinquency, torn jeans and the thrill of skipping class, and they lace their classic hooks as deep as anything churned out by Iron Virgin, The Plod, or Bearded Lady in their time." --Todd Killings, VictimofTime.com

Who is Buzzer??? I only know that they'll be sharing a ride and all equipment with Apache, so I expect more glamtastic garagey powerpop fun!

And you should all know the growing local legend of The Pizzas. Led by the masterful Matt K. Shrugg of Th'Losin' Streaks, Sacto's best stage banterers since The Bananas' early years are a swashbuckling garagepunk trip through the ghetto of the Angry Samoans via the 1960's punk prehistory. Their Bad-Ass Youth EP on Daggerman is topping many 2008 faves lists in the international garage/punk blogosphere, but I say it can't top the fun and funny kick-in-the-teeth experience of their live wallop. And pizza-related jokes!

Bring your friends, your dancin' shoes, and appetite for pizza and party.

This show will not start late! I know you've heard this before, but this is the first show in an all-new space. We will make weeknight shows run from 8 sharp 'til 11 like a routine. It will get you to work or class tomorrow feeling fresh, and ready to party again Tuesday night with Octagon Control, Mom, and Green Green.

Now watch a Cheap Time video by TV's Daniel...

or live in Chicago...
